Aaron is an honorary senior lecturer at the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex and a founding and executive member of The Relational School, UK. In addition to his academic and clinical work, Aaron is a media spokesperson for the UKCP, a contributor and consultant to the media, a blogger, mental health writer, and a regular voice promoting mental health for children and young people on BBC television and radio.

Aaron is the author of two books, The Psychodynamics of Social Networking: connected up instantaneous culture and the self (2014, Karnac) and the children’s book Keep your Cool: how to deal with life’s worries and stress (2013, Hachette).

Tony’s work has also included supervision, private practice, and managing counsellor’s in both a university setting and an adolescent counselling service within the voluntary sector. Additionally, Tony teaches therapists internationally and has co-written a chapter titled Healing the Traumatized Organization in the book International Handbook of Workplace Trauma Support (2012, Wiley-Blackwell).

Tony has a specific interest in somatic psychology, bodywork and the application of knowledge from the fields of neuroscience and psychobiology to trauma theory and treatment interventions. Tony is a qualified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist and is on the teaching faculty of the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, established by Dr Pat Ogden and based in Colorado, USA. He was originally Gestalt trained and holds a BA Hons degree in Counselling and a Diploma in Supervision and Certificate of Education. Tony teaches all 3 levels of Sensorimotor Pyschotherapy in UK, Ireland, Norway, Netherlands, Finland and Australia.

She was Director of the Obesity and Eating Disorders Research Unit from 2004-2008, and has been working in the field of eating disorders since 1984 when she took up a position as a counsellor at the London Contemporary Dance School. Her first book on eating disorders Eating Your Heart Out (2nd ed, Vega, 1996) derives mostly from this experience.

Julia has spent the past ten years involved in a range of research and writing on disordered eating. This includes work on the effectiveness of group work for obese women and a pilot obese study for a Primary Care Trust. She has written a number of books on eating for a lay audience and developed a programme for emotional eaters available to the general public and marketed under the title Understanding your Eating.

In addition she has published works on the psychological aspects of all forms of disordered eating, such as Psychological Aspects of Eating Disorders and Obesity, (Wiley, 2008) co-edited with Sharon Rother. For four years (2004-2007) she was editor of Counselling and Psychotherapy Research, the research journal for the BACP.

He is the author of a number of seminal texts that have become required reading on many counselling and psychotherapy training courses. His first book On Learning from the Patient (1985) was an international best seller and introduced the concept of the ‘internal supervisor. A later book Learning from Our Mistakes (2002), was awarded a Gradiva Award in America for its contribution to psychoanalysis.

His last book, written in retirement, Learning from Life: becoming a psychoanalyst (2006) is partly autobiographical and addresses the connections between personal and life experience and the calling of a clinical career.

He is a chartered psychologist and counselling psychologist, is registered as a chartered member with the BPS (British Psychological Society) and as a practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, as well as being registered with the UKCP as an adult psychotherapist.

Divine has co-authored and edited numerous books in counselling and psychotherapy. His two latest co-edited books are Love and Therapy: In relationship (2015, co-edited with Stephen Paul) and Black Identities + White Therapies: Race, Respect and Diversity (2021, co-edited with Colin Lago).

His area of research interest is Trauma across the lifespan and one of his most recent research projects is on Love in the time of Covid. Divine is a lover of photography, art, music and outdoor pursuits.

She has run courses on attachment at the Wimbledon Guild since 2000. These have now been formalised into a Post Graduate Diploma in Attachment-Based Therapy, and Linda is the course director and lead tutor. She has also taught for two decades on psychotherapy and counselling courses.

She has edited three books: Love in the Age of the Internet: Attachment in the Digital Era (2015, Karnac), Anxiously Attached: Understanding and Working with Preoccupied Attachment (2017), and Attachment and the Defence Against Intimacy: Understanding and Working with Avoidant Attachment, Self-Hatred, and Shame, (2018).

Diane is the founder of the not-for-profit organisation Menopause Support and the national #MakeMenopauseMatter campaign. The campaign has been instrumental in ensuring that menopause has been added to the new RSE curriculum in secondary education in England and that all medical students will study menopause from 2024.

Regularly invited to comment about menopause and mental health in the media she has appeared on This Morning, Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, Lorraine, BBC Breakfast, ITV, Channel 4, and Sky News. Diane can regularly be heard discussing menopause and mental health on the radio and has written about menopause for both the Telegraph and the Guardian newspapers. She has contributed to several books about menopause and mental health and her first book Making Menopause Matter: The Essential Guide to What You Need to Know and Why, was published in May 2024.

Diane has spoken at several conferences dedicated to all aspects of menopause for both the public and health professionals, including giving the closing keynote speech at the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) conference and hosting the menopause and mental health stage at the This Can Happen conference in London.

Over the course of 15 years, she developed her embodied relational approach to working with eating disorders, and presented research based on this methodology to the UKCP research conference. She is author of the chapter “Gestalt and Dance Movement Psychotherapy in Adults with Eating Disorders” in Essentials of Dance Movement Psychotherapy (edited by H. Payne, 2017).

Yeva also has a strong interest in working with trauma using her approach and is author of “Building resilience: Developing somatic and relational resources in a Gestalt Movement Therapy group for women with borderline personality disorder and histories of profound trauma” in Trauma in the Creative and Embodied Therapies: When Words Are Not Enough (edited by Chesner & Lykou, 2020).

Originally practising as an Independent Financial Adviser for 10 years, Simonne broke away from the profession because she saw a need that wasn’t being satisfied by traditional financial services. Recognising that there was far more to working with people and their money than focusing on maximising assets, she started her own Financial Coaching practice over 20 years ago to help clients build a better relationship with money and feel calmer, more in control and confident about their finances.

Offering a blend of guidance and coaching, Simonne helps clients fully navigate the financial side of their lives, challenge dysfunctional behaviours and transform their emotional relationship with money. She’s been described as a ‘holistic financial coach who can crunch numbers, while also getting under the hood and doing deep work’. As well as her client work, Simonne also developed a training arm to Wise Monkey to train others to create their own Financial Coaching practice.

Simonne is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a certified coach, ILM Level 7 Coaching and Mentoring trained and a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She’s also a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and a Registered Life Planner®.
